▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - A porous composite membrane comprises graphene oxide sheets, and nanoparticles bonded to a surface of the graphene oxide sheets solely by electrostatic and/or Van der Waals interactions. USE - Porous composite membrane used in gas separation system for separating hydrogen from gas stream, and reducing water swelling in graphene oxide-based hydrogen membrane. ADVANTAGE - The graphene oxide-based membrane has improved stability to humidity and resistance to water-swelling. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of the porous composite membrane, which involves (i) providing a dispersion of graphene oxide sheets in an aqueous solvent, (ii) providing a dispersion of nanoparticles in an aqueous solvent, (iii) mixing the graphene oxide dispersion and the nanoparticle dispersion to form a dispersion of graphene oxide-nanoparticle composite, and (iv) filtering the dispersion through a porous support substrate to form a substrate-supported graphene oxide-nanoparticle composite membrane; (2) a gas separation system, which comprises the porous composite membrane in fluidic communication with a gas stream comprising a mixture of at least two separable gases comprising hydrogen; (3) separation of hydrogen from the gas stream, which involves permeating a gas mixture comprising at least hydrogen of at least two separable gases through the porous composite membrane; and (4) reduction of water swelling in a graphene oxide-based hydrogen membrane, which involves associating nanoparticles in electrostatically and/or Van der Waals binding interaction with graphene oxide sheets comprising the graphene oxide-based hydrogen membrane.
