NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide group cadmium ion imprinted polymer, involves dispersing deionized water, cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and graphene oxide, stirring at room temperature to obtain an aqueous phase, dispersing methyl methacrylate and reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent to obtain an oil phase, dripping the oil phase in the aqueous phase, stirring at room temperature, supplying nitrogen, heating, adding azobisisobutyronitrile, seal-reacting, washing with water and methanol several times, and vacuum-drying. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide-cadmium ion imprinted polymer used for selective recognition and adsorbing divalent cadmium ion (claimed) in water treatment, sewage treatment, and other environmental applications. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of easy-to-use graphene oxide-cadmium ion imprinted polymer having high selectivity and adsorption capacity with respect to divalent cadmium, by controlled polymerization by controlling the ratio of reactants. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide group cadmium ion imprinted polymer, involves adding 98% concentrated sulfuric acid to a 250 mL beaker, placing in an ice-water bath, adding colloidal graphite powder and sodium nitrate while stirring, stirring vigorously, slowly adding potassium permanganate, reacting at less than 20 degrees C, removing the ice-water bath, heating to 35 degrees C, maintaining for 30 minutes, slowly adding deionized water while stirring, heating to 98 degrees C to obtain a brown solution, reacting for 15 minutes, adding hot deionized water at 60 degrees C and 30% hydrogen peroxide, reacting, centrifuging, washed with 5% hydrochloric acid until there is no sulfuric acid and then with deionized water until neutral, ultrasonically processing, and drying to obtain graphene oxide, ultrasonically dispersing deionized water, cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and graphene oxide in a 100 mL flask, stirring at room temperature to obtain an aqueous phase, dispersing methyl methacrylate and RAFT agent to obtain an oil phase, dripping the oil phase in the aqueous phase, stirring at room temperature, supplying nitrogen, heating, adding azobisisobutyronitrile, seal-reacting, washing the product with water and methanol several times, and vacuum-drying.
