▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Cover for a prosthetic body portion or a portion comprises an outer covering 30 comprising a graphene- and/or graphite-polymer composition. USE - Cover for a prosthetic body portion or a portion. ADVANTAGE - There are three main types of prosthetic hands. The simplest type is the passive functional hand prosthesis, which is fabricated to resemble a hand and is capable of simple carrying, pushing, pulling and stabilising movements. The another type is the body-powered hand prosthesis, which is capable of gripping movement by applying tension via a cable to open and close the prosthesis. The most advanced type is the myoelectric prosthesis, which uses nerves and electrical impulses from the wearers residual limb to control the prosthetic body portion. The prosthetic products are intuitive to use and/or consistently report sensory feedback. Further, there is a demand for affordable and commercially available prosthetic products, which are a realistic option for the average user. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a kit, which comprises a prosthetic device or a portion and the cover; (2) a prosthetic device, which comprises a prosthetic body portion or a portion, and the cover, where the outer covering is arranged over at least portion of the prosthetic body portion or portion; (3) a method of manufacturing a cover, which involves (a) forming a mixture by mixing graphene and/or graphite with at least one polymer, and (b) setting the mixture to form the outer covering; (4) a control system for simulating sensing of external stimuli by a wearer of a prosthetic body portion or a portion, the control system being connectable to an outer covering of a cover, the control system comprising an input for receiving, from the outer covering, a measurement signal indicative of one or more electrical characteristics associated with the outer covering, one or more processors collectively configured to evaluate the received measurement signal and extract data therefrom indicative of the one or more electrical characteristics, determine, from the one or more electrical characteristics, information relating to one or more external stimuli applied to the outer covering, and generate a sensory signal indicative of the one or more external stimuli, the sensory signal being capable of being received by and processed by nerve cells of the wearer, and an output for outputting the generated sensory signal to the wearer via an electrode associated with the nervous system of the wearer; (5) an apparatus for simulating sensing of external stimuli by a wearer of a prosthetic body portion or portion, the apparatus comprising a control system electrically connected to the outer covering of the cover;(6) a method for simulating sensing of external stimuli by a wearer of a prosthetic body portion or portion, using the apparatus, which involves (a) measuring and evaluating one or more electrical characteristics associated with the outer covering, (b) determining, from the one or more electrical characteristics, information relating to one or more external stimuli applied to the outer covering, (c) generating a sensory signal indicative of the one or more external stimuli, the sensory signal being capable of being received by and processed by nerve cells of the wearer, and (d) outputting the generated sensory signal to the wearer via an electrode associated with the nervous system of the wearer; (7) a computer software which, when executed, causes performance of a method.
