NOVELTY - A modified polypropylene-based cooling tower filler comprises 100 pts. wt. polypropylene, 10 pts. wt. ethylene-propylene copolymer, 10 pts. wt. polypropylene grafted maleic anhydride, 0.05-2 pts. wt. initiator, 2-20 pts. wt. modifier, 0.1-2 pts. wt. antioxidant, 5-15 pts. wt. carbon material, 5-20 pts. wt. fiber, and 10-30 pts. wt. filler. USE - Modified polypropylene-based tower filler used for cooling water. ADVANTAGE - The modified polypropylene-based cooling tower filler has high-temperature resistance and highly efficient heat dissipation function, enables water to spread on the surface to form a uniform film, and improves the cooling efficiency per unit area. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of modified polypropylene-based cooling tower filler, which involves (i) weighing the raw materials, (ii) dissolving the modifier and initiator in absolute ethanol to form a solution or a turbid liquid, (iii) mixing polypropylene, ethylene propylene copolymer, polypropylene grafted maleic anhydride, antioxidant, carbon materials, fibers and fillers evenly and calendering in an open mill, (iv) plasticizing the materials, spraying the solution or turbid liquid onto the surface of the plasticized materials by a spray device to carry out a graft reaction, mixing and calendaring the triangle pack continues for another 5-15 minutes after completing the spraying is complete, to ensure a thorough grafting reaction to obtain synthetic material of polypropylene-based cooling tower filler, (v) extruding the synthetic material into a sheet, and compression-molding to obtain a flat sheet of the polypropylenebased cooling tower filler.
