NOVELTY - Preparing super-strong graphene fiber comprises (i) dispersing graphene oxide in water to obtain a graphene oxide suspension, centrifuging the graphene oxide suspension, removing the graphite particles and impurities at the bottom of the centrifuge tube, diluting the graphene oxide suspension to a desired concentration with deionized water, stirring for many hours, and obtaining graphene oxide spinning solution, (ii) dissolving the chitosan in a deionized aqueous solution containing 1% acetic acid to obtain 0.3-1 wt.% chitosan solution, and stirring at room temperature, and (iii) spinning drop of graphene oxide in a PS plastic watch glass, dropping another drop of chitosan solution on the graphene oxide spinning solution, inserting the two clamping parts of the dice into two droplets, where the two clamping portions of the tweezers are brought together to make the graphene oxide spinning solution and the chitosan solution contact each other to form a polyelectrolyte complex interface. USE - The method is useful for preparing super-strong graphene fiber. ADVANTAGE - The method: adopts polyelectrolyte complex spinning process; and has traction stretching effect for directed assembly of graphene and chitosan molecules. The graphene fiber has high degree of orientation, which is beneficial to the high strength and toughness of the fiber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing super-strong graphene fiber comprises (i) dispersing graphene oxide in water to obtain a graphene oxide suspension, centrifuging the graphene oxide suspension, removing the graphite particles and impurities at the bottom of the centrifuge tube, diluting the graphene oxide suspension to a desired concentration with deionized water, stirring for many hours, and obtaining graphene oxide spinning solution, (ii) dissolving the chitosan in a deionized aqueous solution containing 1% acetic acid to obtain 0.3-1 wt.% chitosan solution, and stirring at room temperature, and (iii) spinning drop of graphene oxide in a PS plastic watch glass, dropping another drop of chitosan solution on the graphene oxide spinning solution, inserting the two clamping parts of the dice into two droplets, where the two clamping portions of the tweezers are brought together to make the graphene oxide spinning solution and the chitosan solution contact each other to form a polyelectrolyte complex interface, pulling up the tweezers at the interface of the two oppositely charged solutions, spontaneously self-assembling under the intermolecular ionic bond and hydrogen bond of graphene sheets and chitosan molecules to form continuous fibers, washing using deionized water, drying the fiber in a thermostat for 2-2.5 hours, preliminary drying, continuing drying at room temperature overnight to obtain graphene oxide fibers, reducing the graphene oxide fibers, washing, and drying to obtain graphene fibers. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for graphene fiber obtained by the above mentioned method.
