NOVELTY - Preparation of composite microspheres involves (1) adding tetrabutyl titanate polymer as precursor into high pressure reaction device, sealing, (2) transferring the high-pressure reaction device to heating furnace filled with inert gas for heating, decomposing the precursor to generate high pressure in the gas phase, obtaining titanium dioxide-carbide microspheres with controllable morphology, (3) transferring the titanium dioxide-carbide microspheres to a heating furnace filled with inert gas for heating to 950-1200 degrees C, replacing the inert gas with a mixed gas of methane and hydrogen, warming, using chemical vapor deposition to grow vertical graphene sheets with controllable content on the surface of the microspheres, and reducing titanium dioxide to titanium(III) oxide. USE - Preparation of composite microspheres for negative electrode of lithium ion batteries (all claimed) and energy storage materials. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical, easy to implement and suitable for large-scale industrial production, and uses easily available raw materials. When the vertical graphene sheet-titanium(III) oxide-carbide composite microspheres are applied to the negative electrode of lithium-ion batteries, the lithium ion exhibits high capacity, excellent cycle and rate performance.
