NOVELTY - Platinum-based alloy catalyst comprises platinum-iron-iridium alloy nano-wire as active component and carbon black as carbon carrier. The platinum-iron-iridium alloy nano-wire is uniformly dispersed on the surface of the carbon black. USE - The catalyst is useful for electrocatalytic reduction of oxygen to water (claimed), fuel oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions in fuel cells. ADVANTAGE - The platinum-based alloy catalyst has excellent structure stability and activity, strong oxidation resistance and strong acid, and excellent catalytic oxygen reduction to the catalytic performance of water.
