NOVELTY - A stable single metal atom is supported on three-dimensional porous graphene which is prepared by using a nanoporous metal material as a template. The nano-porous metal material is heated to a temperature above the melting point of the nano-porous metal material and the temperature is maintained to obtain the product. USE - Single metal atom used as catalyst (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The stable metal monoatom is still well dispersed when heated to 1000 degrees C without agglomerating into small particles. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a preparation of single metal atom, which involves (1) preparing nano-porous metal materials, (2) using the nanoporous metal material obtained in step (1) as a catalytic carbon source gas to form a layer of amorphous carbon on the surface of the nanoporous metal material, (3) heating the nanoporous metal material with amorphous carbon on the surface obtained in step (2) above the melting point of the nanoporous metal material and keeping it warm.
