▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A composite material comprises intimate mixture consisting of lithiated or partially lithiated graphite or graphene, powdered silicon of particle size 1-100 micron and optionally metallic lithium. USE - Composite material used as anode material in electrochemical cells with non-aqueous electrolyte e.g. lithium batteries (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material has excellent thermal stability and provides lithium batteries with excellent cycle stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A composite material comprises intimate mixture consisting of lithiated or partially lithiated graphite or graphene, powdered silicon of particle size 1-100 micron and optionally metallic lithium. The composite material is of formula: SixC10-xLiz. X=1-9; Z=a(1/6+4.4x(10-x));and a=0.1-1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of composite material, which involves reacting a mixture of silicon powder, lithium powder having particle size of 5-500 micron and graphite and/or graphene powder in a molar ratio of x/10-x/z, at 0-120 degrees C, 20-100 degrees C under inert gas or in vacuo.
