NOVELTY - Aqueous polyurethane Pickering emulsion comprises 10-60 wt.% polyurethane prepolymer, 0.1-20 wt.% amphiphilic two-dimensional nanomaterial, 0-20 wt.% hydrophilic polymer, and water (remaining amount), where the polyurethane prepolymer is the product of diisocyanate and macromolecular polyols reacted in the presence of small molecule chain extenders and catalysts after prepolymerization. USE - The aqueous polyurethane Pickering emulsion is useful in the field of high performance material in a certain degree. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and easy, based on the traditional polyurethane synthesis process, using amphiphilic two-dimensional nano-material to replace the traditional small molecule surfactant realizing preparation of aqueous polyuretherane emulsion. The method improves the water resistance of the film of the polyureathane colloidal particle, and enhances the interface interaction between the nano-filler and the particles. The two form a synergistic effect, compared with the method of directly mixing nano-fillers in the aQP emulsion, it can realize reinforcing and toughening aQEQP at the same time.
