NOVELTY - A mercapto graphene is obtained by a two-step reaction of graphene oxide and a mercapto-amino compound. The molar ratio of amino group of mercapto-amino compound, and epoxy group and carboxyl group of graphene oxide is 1 or more. USE - Mercapto graphene is used for preparing rubber material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The mercapto graphene has high grafting efficiency. The rubber material is economically prepared using the mercapto graphene, with high productivity and reduced friction loss due to poor interface affinity, by simple process, and has excellent mechanical property. The heat generation of rubber product during use, is reduced. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of mercapto graphene, which is prepared by adding graphene oxide to a reaction solvent, ultrasonically dispersing, adding mercapto-amino compound and a strong base compound, reacting at 80-100 degrees C for 4-6 hours, adding a condensation reagent, reacting at room temperature for 12-24 hours, filtering reaction mixture, washing, and drying; (2) rubber material, which is prepared by mixing mercapto graphene with natural or synthetic rubber latex, and performing emulsion solidification. The content of mercapto graphene is 0.1-3 wt.% with respect to the rubber latex; and (3) preparation of rubber material, which involves dispersing the mercapto graphene, obtaining a solution of mercapto graphene, adding natural or synthetic rubber latex to the solution of mercapto graphene under stirring, stirring for 4-10 hours, demulsifying mixed latex, coagulating, and drying.
