NOVELTY - Electrical generator (201) comprises graphene sheet/s (204) comprising first and second electrical contacts (206) and having a surface extending between the first and second electrical contacts arranged to contact a flow of an ion-containing fluid (208), where each surface is provided with a polymer coating (207) having a thickness of less than 100 nm. USE - Electrical generator to generate electricity (claimed) from a flow of sea water, rain water or waste fluid. ADVANTAGE - The electrical generator is longer-lasting and provides an improved output of electrical current over a greater length of time without deterioration or degradation of the device and/or the surface of the graphene sheet. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for generating an electrical current, which involves passing a flow of an ion-containing fluid across the surface of at least one of the graphene sheet/s of the electrical generator.
