NOVELTY - Method for detecting edge shape in graphene nanoribbon, involves absorbing absorption material to graphene nanoribbon and detecting the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon by measuring electrical resistance. When there is a change in electrical resistance the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon with respect to absorption of the absorption material is zigzag shape and when there is a change in electrical resistance the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon with respect to absorption of the absorption material is arm chair shape. USE - The method and apparatus are useful for detecting edge shape in graphene nanoribbon (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical and rapid. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Method for detecting edge shape in graphene nanoribbon, involves absorbing absorption material to graphene nanoribbon and detecting the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon by measuring electrical resistance. When there is a change in electrical resistance the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon with respect to absorption of the absorption material is zigzag shape and when there is a change in electrical resistance the edge shape of the graphene nanoribbon with respect to absorption of the absorption material is arm chair shape. The absorption material is atom or molecule in which absorption energy is larger in zigzag edge of the graphene nanoribbon than in the portion other than the edge. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for apparatus for detecting edge shape in graphene nanoribbon, which comprises absorption unit, detection unit and measurement unit.
