NOVELTY - Making hybrid material comprising vertically-aligned graphene stacks on carbon fiber involves electrophoretically depositing graphene on carbon fiber substrate to fabricate composite material. USE - Method for making hybrid material comprising vertically-aligned graphene stacks on carbon fiber. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to have short deposition time, simple apparatus for deposition, scalable synthesis, high rate performance and excellent ionic transport, and improves specific capacitance and electrochemical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a hybrid electrode, which comprises substrate comprising carbon fibers, and graphene sheets vertically stacked on and electrically connected to carbon fibers, where hybrid electrode has 100% capacitance retention after 100,000 cycles.
