▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Chemical composition comprises graphene oxide covalently bonded to an ionic liquid. USE - The composition is useful in a nanocomposite anion exchange membrane which is used in a fuel cell (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition utilizes: the graphene oxide, which exhibits high surface area, hydrophilic nature, electronic insulation properties and excellent mechanical stability, and is easily quaternized via physical or chemical approach, due to the presence of a significant amount of oxygen-containing groups at its surface (i.e. carboxylic groups); and the ionic liquid, which exhibits negligible volatility, high thermal and electrochemical stability, and excellent ionic conductivity even under anhydrous conditions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a nanocomposite anion exchange membrane (26) comprising the graphene oxide, and the ionic liquid covalently bonded to the graphene oxide; (2) a fuel cell (20) comprising an anode (22), a cathode (24), and the nanocomposite anion exchange membrane; and (3) fabricating the nanocomposite anion exchange membrane, comprising functionalizing graphene oxide with the ionic liquid to create a nanocomposite, and forming the anion exchange membrane with the nanocomposite.
