The molecular structure of the covalently linked organosulfur anode material is linear or branched, or crosslinked; functional groups contained in the molecular structure of covalently linked organic sulfur anode materials include carbonyl, hydroxy, ester, carboxy, aldehyde, nitro, amino, carbonate, isocyanate, nitrile group, ether group, sulfonic acid group, amido group, double bond, triple bond, halo, Imidazolyl, pyridyl, quaternary ammonium salt ions, quaternary phosphonium salt ions, heterocycles containing oxygen atoms, nitrogen atoms, and sulfur atoms; catalytic groups and/or derivatives are on the main chain, or on branches or terminal groups. USE - The material is useful in preparing energy storage materials and battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has high cycle capacity, excellent stability, and wide temperature range.
