NOVELTY - Graphene oxide-based Pickering emulsion catalyst is claimed. The catalyst is graphene oxide-based Pickering emulsion catalyst loaded by noble metal. USE - The catalyst is useful in coal tar oxidative desulfurization (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst: realizes efficient oxidative desulfurization reaction process; reduces the organic sulfur content in coal tar; reduces energy consumption and cost of the desulfurization reaction. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing graphene oxide-based Pickering emulsion catalyst, comprising (i) preparing graphene oxide by using improved Hummers method, adding graphite powder and sodium nitrate into concentrated sulfuric acid, stirring in the ice bath and then slowly adding potassium permanganate into the reaction system, transferring the solution to the water bath and slowly adding de-ionized water and continuously stirring, increasing the reaction temperature, stirring and reacting, closing the heating and adding water into the system, finishing the oxidation reaction, then adding hydrogen peroxide to remove the unreacted complete potassium permanganate to obtain oxidized graphene raw liquid, allowing the product to stand, centrifuging to neutrality to remove the residual water-soluble ion in the oxidized graphene raw liquid (e.g. potassium ion, sodium ion, manganese ion and sulfate ion) to obtain graphene oxide dispersion liquid and then freezing and drying, (ii) taking the prepared graphene oxide dispersion liquid and adding amine compound as modifying agent to modify the graphene oxide and preparing graphene oxide and (iii) loading noble metal palladium, platinum, palladium-platinum compound, iron-based, cobalt-based, palladium-iron compound or palladium-cobalt compound on the surface of the graphene oxide by dipping method to prepare emulsion catalyst and adding metal precursor aqueous solution into graphene oxide powder, ultrasonically stirring at room temperature and then vacuum drying the sample at low temperature.
