NOVELTY - Preparing sheet molding compound (SMC) material comprises (i) mixing 180-220 pts. wt. unsaturated polyester resin with 80-120 pts. wt. shrinkage agent, adding 7-10 pts. wt. graphene slurry, 3-5 pts. wt. curing agent, and 2-5 pts. wt. polymerization inhibitor, adding 15-25 pts. wt. internal mold release agent, uniformly stirring, adding 450-550 pts. wt. inorganic filler and uniformly stirring to obtain first raw material resin paste, (ii) mixing magnesium oxide powder with inactive resin in weight ratio of 1:6-9, dispersing by disperser at 1000 revolutions/minutes for 10 minutes, and uniformly grinding by grinder to obtain magnesium oxide paste thickener, and (iii) mixing first raw material resin paste and magnesium oxide paste thickener, dispersing by disperser for 5 minutes, and uniformly mixing to obtain second raw material resin paste. USE - The method is useful in preparing sheet moulding compound (SMC) material for lightweight bumper (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has high mechanical strength, high tensile strength, high impact strength, high bending strength and high heat resistance, which is not easy to damage when used on bumper.
