NOVELTY - Lubricating oil additive comprises graphene oxide based surface-modified nitrogen containing compounds, where amount of graphene oxide based surface-modified nitrogen containing compounds in lubricating oil is 0.01-0.9 wt.%. USE - The lubricating oil additive is useful in lubricating oil for vehicle (claimed), and increasing anti-friction properties of lubricating oil and reducing loss of engine. ADVANTAGE - The lubricating oil additive has simple preparation method, and is suitable for industrial production, high repetition rate and dispersibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing lubricating oil additives comprising preparing aqueous solution of graphene oxide, mixing aqueous solution of graphene oxide with organic solution of nitrogen-containing surface modifier, forming two phases, heating to 60-90 degrees C, and then vigorous stirring for 3-12 hours to obtain final product; and (2) preparing lubricating oil comprising adding lubricating oil additive to lubricating oil, and then mixing to obtain final product, where amount lubricating oil additive in lubricating oil is 0.01-0.9 wt.%.
