NOVELTY - Lithium-ion battery cathode material comprises 93-97 wt.% graphite material, 0.5-2.5 wt.% conductive agent, 2-3 wt.% binder, 0.5-2 wt.% thickener and more than 10 parts per million N-ethylacetamide derivative (I). USE - The cathode material is useful for lithium-ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The lithium-ion battery cathode material: can improves first charging and discharging efficiency; reduces initial impedance; and improves storage and cycle performance Lithium-ion battery the high temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Lithium-ion battery cathode material comprises 93-97 wt.% graphite material, 0.5-2.5 wt.% conductive agent, 2-3 wt.% binder, 0.5-2 wt.% thickener and more than 10 parts per million N-ethylacetamide derivative of formula (I). R1= 2-20C hydrocarbylene group including chain alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, preferably buta-1,3-diene-1,4-diyl, 4,4'-(propane-1,3-diyl)dicyclohexanyl, 4,4'-methylenediphenyl, 4,4'-methylenedicyclohexanyl or ethane-1,2-diyl; R2= amino,-N=C=O, or N-C(=O)-O-R4, preferably (2-(ethoxycarbonyloxy)ethoxy)carbonylamino, (2-(methoxycarbonyloxy)ethoxy)carbonylamino, ethoxycarbonylamino, methoxycarbonylamino or isocyanato; R3= 1-10C alkyl, 1-10C ether group, 1-10C aryl group or 2-10C unsaturated hydrocarbon group (H is arbitrarily substituted by halo), preferably 2-((2-ethoxyethoxy)carbonyloxy)ethoxy, 2-(methoxycarbonyloxy)ethoxy, 2-methoxyethoxy, prop-2-ynyloxy or ethoxy; and R4= 1-6C alkyl or 3-10C ester.
