NOVELTY - The disk (200) has a disk main body defining an outer surface, where the disk main body comprises a base material (12). Multiple graphene layers (14) are arranged along the outer surface, along a bore (204) in the disk, and embedded in the base material, where the graphene layers are doped boron and nitrogen, the base material comprises a nickel alloy. The outer surface comprises a front surface (203), a rear surface, and a disk rim (202), where the disk rim is perpendicular to the front and rear surfaces and is defined by circumference of the disk. USE - Graphene disk for a gas turbine engine (claimed) for use in a high pressure turbine or high pressure compressor. ADVANTAGE - The disk ensures significant increase in life due to mitigation of rim-to-bore gradients to reduce need to seek repair of the disks and maintenance cost. The disk provides multiple graphene layers to provide reliable and relatively inexpensive solution to increase life of the disk.
