NOVELTY - Preparation of fluorescent graphene quantum dots involves carrying out electrolysis using graphite rod as anode and cathode, and mixed solution of 0.005-0.1 mol/L ammonium persulfate and 0.1-2 mol/L potassium hydroxide solution as electrolyte at 25-35 V for 30-90 minutes, obtaining quantum dot, filtering in vacuum using filtration membrane, dialyzing using dialysis bag with molecular weight cut-off of 3000-12000 Da, and freeze-drying. The weight ratio of potassium hydroxide and ammonium persulfate is 0-6:1. USE - Preparation of fluorescent graphene quantum dots used in biosensor in metal ion detection and fluorescence detection applications. ADVANTAGE - The method enables efficient preparation of fluorescent graphene quantum dots.
