NOVELTY - Gold-palladium/graphene catalyst comprises gold-palladium bimetallic alloy uniformly loaded on graphene. USE - Gold-palladium/graphene catalyst used in solvent-free selective catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde and reduction of p-nitroaniline to p-phenylenediamine (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and energy-saving. The product has high catalytic efficiency and high selectivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparation of gold-palladium/graphene catalyst comprising ultrasonically dispersing graphene oxide in deionized water, adding chloroauric acid solution and hydrogen chloropalladate solution, stirring for 0.5 hour, dropwisely adding sodium borohydride solution, heating at 100 degrees C, refluxing for 24 hours, filtering, washing and drying; (2) application of gold-palladium/graphene catalyst in solvent-free selective catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol comprising carrying out solvent-free selective catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol at 100 degrees C for 8 hours using gold-palladium/graphene catalyst with pressure of 3 atm and speed of 1500 revolutions/minute until 83-86% conversion rate is achieved; and (3) application of gold-palladium/graphene catalyst in reduction of p-nitroaniline comprising carrying out reduction of p-nitroaniline using sodium borohydride solution and gold-palladium/graphene catalyst at 25 degrees C for 4 minutes until 98% conversion rate is achieved.
