NOVELTY - Electrode comprises an ion diffusion barrier formed on the biocompatible solid electrolyte, where the biocompatible solid electrolyte includes ionic liquid and biocompatible polymer matrix. The biocompatible solid electrolyte forms an electric double layer and ion movement under an electric field. At least one of mechanical modulus and tensile yield point of the biocompatible solid electrolyte is adjusted according to the content of the ionic liquid. The mechanical properties of the biocompatible solid electrolyte are adjusted according to the crosslinking density of the biocompatible polymer. USE - The electrode is useful in pulse generator for generating electrical nerve stimulation pulses (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrode uses a biocompatible solid electrolyte material which is similar to the mechanical properties of living tissue, so when it comes into contact with nerves, it does not cause an immune response or physical damage to living tissue, prevents side effects caused by an electrochemical oxidation/reduction reaction, has a stable nervous interface even in the presence of body movement, provides nerve stimulator for transmitting an electrical signal applied from a current signal generator to a nerve, supress ion exchange reaction between a body fluid and an electrode, can be used based on capacitive charge injection mechanism. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Electrode comprises an ion diffusion barrier formed on the biocompatible solid electrolyte, where the biocompatible solid electrolyte includes ionic liquid and biocompatible polymer matrix. The biocompatible solid electrolyte forms an electric double layer and ion movement under an electric field. At least one of mechanical modulus and tensile yield point of the biocompatible solid electrolyte is adjusted according to the content of the ionic liquid. The mechanical properties of the biocompatible solid electrolyte are adjusted according to the crosslinking density of the biocompatible polymer. The ionic liquid includes choline-based cation and carboxy-based anion paired with the choline-based cation, and the choline-based cation is choline bicarbonate, the choline-based cation includes choline hydroxide and/or choline chloride, and the carboxylic anion is acetate, propionate, glycolate, benzoate, tiglate, malate, succinate, tartrate, fumarate, and/or maleate. The biocompatible polymer is chitosan, collagen, gelatin, fucoidan, alginate, hyaluronic acid, cellulose, polylactic acid, polyglycolide, polycaprolactone, polytrimethylenecarbolinecarbonate, polyaminoacid, polyorthoester, polyethylene oxide and their copolymers. The ion diffusion barrier has a nano-micro pattern on its surface. The ion diffusion barrier layer is made of graphene, graphene oxide, Mxenes, 2D transition metal carbides, or 2D transition metal nitride, preferably at least one of carbide nitrides, transition metal dichalcogenide, 2D metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and/or 2D covalent organic frameworks. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing the electrode.
