NOVELTY - Rubber composition comprises a diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a vulcanization system and an antidegradant having substituted N1-(cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine compounds (I). USE - The composition is useful: in a tire (claimed); and for rubber articles e.g. rubber pneumatic tires, solid tires, non-pneumatic tires, belts, hoses, cables, automotive mounts, bushings and general mechanic products. ADVANTAGE - The composition has improved antiozonation performance and good antiozonation performance without the need for use of N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N'-phenyl-1,4-benzenediamine. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Rubber composition comprises a diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a vulcanization system and an antidegradant having substituted N1-(cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine compounds of formula (I). m = 1 or 2; n = 0-2; p, q = 0-4; m+p = less than 6; n+q = less than 5; X1 = O, S or N; and R', R1', R1, R2 = alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, amine, amide, alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, carboxylic acid, ether, ester, and/or thiol.
