NOVELTY - Preparation of petroleum coke-based graphene comprises dispersing montmorillonite in deionized water, adding cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, hydrothermally reacting, filtering, washing, and drying; dissolving in sodium hydroxide solution, adding petroleum coke-based amphiphilic carbonaceous material, hydrothermally reacting, filtering, washing and drying; and high temperature carbonizing in an argon atmosphere, and washing with sodium hydroxide solution and hydrochloric acid solution. USE - Method for preparing petroleum coke-based graphene used as super capacitor electrode material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene has large specific capacitance, high magnification and high electrochemical stability.
