▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - Nano-scaled graphene plates are produced by exfoliating a fine powder of graphite particles comprising graphite crystallites, each comprising multiple sheets of graphite plane bonded together; and subjecting the particles to a mechanical attrition treatment to reduce its dimension(s) to a nanometer scale of less than 100 nm. Each produced plate comprises a sheet of graphite plane comprising two-dimensional hexagonal structure of carbon atoms. USE - For producing nano-scaled graphene plates. ADVANTAGE - The invention provides a faster and more cost-effective process for producing large quantities of nano-scaled graphene plates. The produced nano-scaled graphene plates have electronic, thermal and mechanical properties that are comparable to those of carbon nano-tubes but will be available at much lower costs and in larger quantities. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Production of nano-scaled graphene plates comprises providing a fine powder of graphite particles smaller than 200 microns, where the particles comprises graphite crystallites, each comprising multiple sheets of graphite plane bonded together; exfoliating the graphite crystallites to form exfoliated graphite particles having at least two graphite planes being either partially or fully separated from each other; and subjecting the exfoliated graphite particles to a mechanical attrition treatment to reduce its dimension(s) to a nanometer scale of less than 100 nm. Each produced plate comprises a sheet of graphite plane or multiple sheets of graphite plane with the graphite plane comprising a two-dimensional hexagonal structure of carbon atoms.
