NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide comprises using halogenated graphite as a precursor, reacting under the condition of organic alkali and water, where the mass ratio of the organic alkaline to the halogenate is 0.01-100:1, preferably 0.1-100:1. The halogenated graphite comprises graphite bromide and/or graphite fluoride. The mass content of the bromine and/or fluorine in the halogenated graphite is 1-60wt.% . USE - For preparation of graphene oxide used for cathode material of lithium ion battery, sensor, electronic device, energy storage device and high performance composite material. ADVANTAGE - The method provides oxidized graphene with complete crystal lattice, single structure, simple preparation technique, strong operability, and different oxygen content by reasonably controlling the reaction condition. The oxidation graphene has conductivity of 650S/m electron mobility of 135cm2/Vs. The first charge and discharge capacity of the cathode material of the oxidation graphene as lithium ion battery is 296mAh/g. The method is simple, inexpensive, and easy to obtain.
