NOVELTY - Cathode active material has a composite (100) copper phosphate as core (10) and carbon copper comprises conductive carbon-nano particles (20) attached to the surface. USE - Cathode active material used for producing a positive electrode active material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode active material has high performance and high capacity of batteries. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a method for producing a positive electrode active material, which involves preparing a composite copper phosphate, and preparing carbon-copper by mixing and pulverizing conductive carbon with nano-carbon-copper; and (2) a method for manufacturing of a conversion-based cathode active material, which involves coating positive electrode with a positive electrode active material, facing a negative electrode with the positive electrode, and disposing electrolyte between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, where during charging and discharging in the secondary battery, the positive electrode performs a conversion reaction with cations in the electrolyte as represented by the reaction formula secondary battery.
