NOVELTY - Alkali metal-containing graphene, is claimed. The alkali metal-containing graphene has 1-10 layers and a plane size of 0.1-500 mu m and includes a small amount of an alkali metal or an alkali metal compound, and the mass of the alkali metal accounts for 0.01-10 wt.% of the alkali metal-containing graphene. USE - The alkali metal-containing graphene is useful in the field of lithium ion batteries and catalysts (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene has good electrochemical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the graphene, comprising (i) mixing a graphite-based raw material and an alkali metal in an atmosphere not reacting with an alkali metal to obtain a uniformly mixed graphite-based carbon material-alkali metal composite material, allowing to stand in an atmosphere which does not react with an alkali metal, so that an alkali metal intercalation reaction occurs until the composite material changes from black to golden yellow, and (ii) placing the obtained composite material in a liquid medium capable of reacting, removing the intercalation material, shaking or peeling, washing and separating to obtain final product.
