NOVELTY - Pole piece, comprises a current collector, whose at least a part of the surface is formed with an active material layer. At least a part of the active material layer is arranged with a functional area. The functional area is dispersed with functional material. The functional material comprises a flame retardant material, heat conducting material or heat insulating material. USE - The pole piece is useful in a battery of a vehicle (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The pole piece can reduce the risk of thermal runaway and combustion of the battery, and improve the thermal stability and safety performance of the battery.
