NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide using vermiform graphite comprises (a) adding vermiform graphite (600 times) in a wall breaking machine, crushing to obtain vermiform graphite powder, (b) adding 0.4-0.5g sodium nitrate into 60-63 ml concentrated sulfuric acid, stirring in an ice water bath for 1 hour, dispersing and become turbidity, (c) adding 1g graphite powder into the concentrated sulfuric acid-sodium nitrate mixed solution, slowly adding 2-3 g potassium permanganate, , stirring for3 hours to obtain a mixed solution, (d) adding the mixed solution in a oil bath, stirring, adding 180 ml deionized water to the mixed solution, heating the mixed solution, (f) adding 10ml hydrogen peroxide to mixed solution, (g) filtering the mixed solution, washing with deionized water to obtain a filter cake, (h) removing the filter cake, using ultrasonic treatment, (i) treating the filter cake with a centrifuge, separating the acid solution , leaving solids and (j) freeze-drying the solid to make a powder. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene oxide using vermiform graphite. ADVANTAGE - The method has high oxidation efficiency; is simple and is suitable for industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene oxide using vermiform graphite comprises (a) adding vermiform graphite (600 times) in a wall breaking machine, crushing to obtain vermiform graphite powder, (b) adding 0.4-0.5g sodium nitrate into 60-63 ml concentrated sulfuric acid, stirring in an ice water bath for 1 hour, dispersing and become turbidity, (c) adding 1g graphite powder obtained in step (a) into the concentrated sulfuric acid-sodium nitrate mixed solution obtained in step (b), slowly adding 2-3 g potassium permanganate, controlling at 9-10 degrees C , stirring for 3 hours to obtain a mixed solution, (d) adding the mixed solution obtained in step (c) in a 35 degrees C oil bath, stirring for 2 hours, (e) adding 180 ml deionized water with 80 degrees C to the mixed solution obtained in step (d), heating the mixed solution to 95 degrees C for 0.5 hours, (f) adding 10ml hydrogen peroxide to the mixed solution obtained in step (e), (g) filtering the mixed solution obtained in step (f), washing with deionized water to obtain a filter cake, (h) removing the filter cake obtained in step (f), using ultrasonic treatment, (i) treating the filter cake obtained in step (h) with a centrifuge, separating the acid solution , leaving solids and (j) freeze-drying the solid obtained in step (i) to make a powder.
