NOVELTY - Combustion catalyst comprises graphene airgel carrier, and metal oxides as the carrier and the metal oxide is dispersed in the graphene aerogel in the form of nanoparticles. USE - Used as combustion catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has a high specific surface area, a large pore volume, and good thermal conductivity, achieves uniform dispersion of transition metal oxide nano-particles in the interior of aerogel without any agglomeration phenomenon and has excellent catalytic activity, has simple preparation process and achieves mild reaction conditions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the combustion catalyst, comprising (i) mixing graphene hydrogel aqueous graphene oxide solution, nano-metal oxide and reducing agent solution to form supported metal oxide of grapheme hydrogel; and (ii) subjecting the metal oxide-loaded graphene hydrogels to solvent exchange and freeze-drying to obtain the supported metal oxide graphene aerogel.
