NOVELTY - A composite material consists of a single-crystal sapphire substrate having off-angle degree of more than 0 degrees , a metal film, and a graphene film, in order. USE - Composite material is used for manufacturing graphene film (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material has suppressed generation of defects. The growth end of a graphene can be controlled. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) graphene film; (2) manufacture of composite material, which involves epitaxially-growing the metal film on the sapphire substrate, and epitaxially-growing the graphene film on the metal film; (3) manufacture of graphene film, which involves peeling from the composite material; and (4) single-crystal sapphire substrate.
