NOVELTY - Manufacturing electrode for reducing carbon dioxide comprises electrodepositing nickel on a carbon material in an electrolyte solution containing a nickel (Ni) precursor, immersing nickel electrodeposited carbon material in an electrolyte solution containing a gold (Au) precursor, replacing at least a portion of the nickel with gold, and removing at least a portion of the remaining nickel of the carbon material in which at least a portion of the nickel is substituted with gold. USE - The electrode is useful for reducing carbon dioxide. ADVANTAGE - The method has high selective carbon monoxide conversion efficiency when reducing carbon dioxide electrochemically, suppresses hydrogen generation to the maximum and low hydrogen conversion efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for carbon dioxide reduction device.
