NOVELTY - Preparing titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive with self-cleaning ability comprises (i) adding graphene oxide into absolute ethanol, ultrasonically dispersing in ice bath, stirring, adding deionized water, tetrabutyl titanate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, lauric acid, oleic acid, sorbitol oleate and stearic acid under magnetic stirring condition, placing mixed solution into zirconia ball tank, rotating ball mill forward, stopping ball mill, reversing ball mill, and circulating to obtain reaction product I, washing reaction product I using absolute ethanol and deionized water, freeze-drying, and grinding to obtain titanium dioxide-graphene oxide nanocomposite; and (ii) dispersing titanium dioxide-graphene oxide nanocomposite in n-hexane, ultrasonically dispersing, adding octadecyltrimethoxysilane, and continuously ultrasonicating to obtain reaction product II, washing reaction product II with n-heptane, and washing with absolute ethanol, and vacuum drying. USE - The titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive with self-cleaning ability is useful as the additive of lubricating oil, a light-to-heat conversion material and a self-cleaning material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method solves the problems that the existing lubricant additives do not have a self-cleaning function and are prone to accidents when used improperly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) use of titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive with self-cleaning ability as the additive of lubricating oil; and (2) method of using self-cleaning titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive as the additive of lubricating oil, comprising adding the self-cleaning titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive into the lubricating oil, and ultrasonically dispersing to obtain a lubricating oil dispersed with a titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive with self-cleaning ability, where the titanium dioxide-graphene oxide lubricating oil nano additive with self-cleaning ability is 0.1-0.2% of the mass fraction of lubricating oil, the power of the ultrasonic dispersion is 500-1000 W, and the time of the ultrasonic dispersion is 0.2-1 hour.
