NOVELTY - Synthesis of graphene from graphite rods of waste dry cell batteries involves electrochemically exfoliating the graphite rods of waste dry cell batteries to produce graphene oxide, and reducing the produced graphene oxide to produce graphene. USE - Synthesis of graphene from graphite rods of waste dry cell batteries, used as electrode material for energy storage element e.g. supercapacitor and lead-acid battery, and for modifying electrode as biosensor. ADVANTAGE - The method is economical and efficiently produces graphene from graphite rods, by recycling the waste dry cell batteries.
