NOVELTY - Preparing catalyst comprises uniformly dispersing the graphene and cerium oxide in ethanediol and isopropanol, then adding solution of chloroplatinic acid to regulate pH value of the solution to 10-12, microwave heating the pH adjusted product, filtering the heated product until there is no chlorine ion, washing the filtered product, drying the washed product, and loading 10-30 wt.% of platinum as active component under cerium oxide-graphene as carrier in a mass ratio of 2:1 to obtain platinum/cerium-oxide graphite catalyst. USE - The method is useful for preparing catalyst, which is useful in methanol fuel cell (claimed) for electrochemical oxidation of methanol. ADVANTAGE - The method is capable of efficiently preparing the catalyst with simple process and good electrocatalysis property.
