NOVELTY - Producing a cathode containing copper thiophosphate doped with cobalt and a carbon-based conductive material, comprises (a) forming copper thiophosphate by physically mixing copper powder, phosphorus powder, and sulfur powder; and (b) physically mixing copper thiophosphate, cobalt powder, and carbon-based conductive material. The carbon-based conductive material includes graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene, reduced graphene oxide, graphene foam, fullerene, endofullerene, lacy carbon, carbon black, acetylene black, Ketjen black, channel black, furnace black, lamp black, summer black, carbon fibers and/or carbon nanotubes, preferably carbon fiber and carbon nanotubes. The chain ether-based solvent is dialkyl ether-based solvent including dimethyl ether and diethyl ether. The potassium salt is N,N-bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide potassium. USE - The cathode is useful in potassium ion battery for battery pack (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode can improve electrochemical characteristics including cycling characteristics and rate characteristics.
