NOVELTY - A composite carbon material (1) is obtained by alternately laminating graphene (2) and carbon nanoribbon (3). USE - Composite carbon material is used for forming electrode catalyst (all claimed). Can also be used for fuel cell, capacitor and exhaust gas purifying catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The composite carbon material has excellent specific surface area, and is economical. The electrode catalyst obtained using composite carbon material has excellent activity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of composite carbon material, which involves reducing oxidized graphite and oxidized carbon nanoribbon and laminating reduced oxidized graphite and reduced carbon nanoribbon; (2) electrode catalyst, which consists of metal catalyst supported by composite carbon material; and (3) manufacture of electrode catalyst, which involves reducing oxidized graphite and oxidized carbon nano ribbon, laminating reduced oxidized graphite and reduced carbon nanoribbon and supporting by metal catalyst.
