USE - The method is useful for remodeling polystyrene plastic particles. ADVANTAGE - The method provides the remodelled polystyrene plastic particles having excellent flame retardant performance, adopts simple process, low cost and high conductivity and can effectively increase the resistivity to 2 orders of magnitude. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Method of remodeling polystyrene plastic particles involves (a) removing the pre-remodeled polystyrene foam to remove dirt adhered to the surface of the polystyrene foam to prepare a block with a volume of not greater than 1 cm3, (b) placing the prepared block material in an organic solvent which is insoluble in water, so that the block material is dissolved into a polystyrene swelling body, where the organic solvent is benzene, toluene, xylene or trichloromethane, (c) placing the polystyrene swelling body in normal temperature water containing sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate concentration of 2.4-3 g/l, heating while stirring, controlling the stirring speed to 200-300 rpm, heating at 70-80 degrees C, stopping heating to maintain constant temperature for 30-50 minutes and controlling the temperature increasing rate to be 0.5-1 degrees C/minutes, (d) performing solid-liquid separation using a filtration method, where the separated solid particles are air-dried into white polystyrene particles having a semi-transparent particle size of 1 mm, (e) soaking the solid polystyrene particles in a foaming agent for 10-13 hours to obtain expandable polystyrene particles, where the foaming agent is any one or a combination of propane, butane, pentane, hexane, heptane or petroleum ether, (f) mixing a flame retardant, a hydrophobic silica and an inorganic coating material to obtain a slurry, adding the expandable polystyrene particles to the slurry, stirring until the particles are uniformly coated and curing for 15-25 minutes at 80-100 degrees C to obtain the flame-retardant particles and (g) mixing ethanol and trichloromethane to obtain a mixed solvent, adding modified graphene, stirring and dispersing uniformly at high speed, adding flame retardant particles, continuing stirring, adding excess absolute ethanol, filtering and drying.
