NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide involves: (1) mixing pretreated graphite powder and an intercalating agent in an ice water bath environment, adding an oxidizing agent until it is completely dissolved, increasing the temperature for intercalation reaction, centrifuging or suction filtering, and separating to obtain a filtrate and a filter cake; (2) adding the filter cake to ice water to quench the reaction, and then adding hydrogen peroxide until no bubbles are generated to obtain a graphene oxide suspension; (3) subjecting the graphene oxide suspension to solid-liquid separation to obtain a filter cake (A); and (4) dispersing the filter cake (A) in water, adding dilute hydrochloric acid, reacting at 50-85 degrees C for 0.1-4 hours, centrifuging or suction filtering to obtain graphene oxide crude filter cake, dispersing in water, centrifuging, and filtering. The pretreatment step involves drying and mesh sieving. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene oxide. ADVANTAGE - The method: enables simple, rapid and environmentally-friendly preparation of the graphene oxide with high efficiency and less defect; optimizes the synthesis of graphite oxide to obtain graphene by anhydrous system reaction; improves the utilization rate of oxidizing agent; and uses simple and efficient purification process.
