NOVELTY - Graphene modified jute fiber/polypropylene composite material comprises 210-350 pts. wt. polypropylene, 90-150 pts. wt. grafted jute fiber and 0.5-1 pts. wt. modified graphene, where the modified graphene is obtained by acidifying and oxidizing graphene with 98 wt.% concentrated sulfuric acid and 65-68 wt.% concentrated nitric acid, the grafted jute fiber is obtained by graft treating jute fiber using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. USE - Used as graphene modified jute fiber/polypropylene composite material. ADVANTAGE - The composite material: uses graphene sheet which is coated on surface of the jute fiber to improve surface roughness of the jute fiber, and also increases strength and toughness; and is environmentally friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing graphene modified jute fiber/polypropylene composite material, comprising (a) weighing 0.5-1 pts. wt. graphene and placing in 20-40 pts. wt. 98 wt.% concentrated sulfuric acid, magnetically stirring for 4-6 hours, oscillating and reacting for 2-4 hours, adding 10-20 pts. wt. 65-68 wt.% of concentrated nitric acid, magnetically stirring for 30-60 minutes, refluxing for 60-90 minutes and taking out reactant, diluting with large amount of water, and then vacuum filtering to obtain modified graphene, (b) cleaning and drying the jute fiber, then cutting into 20-30 mm of short fiber, adding 2-10 pts. wt. 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane into ethanol aqueous solution, lightly stirring uniformly, allowing to stand for 2-4 hours, adjusting pH to 4.5-5.5 using glacial acetic acid, weighing 90-150 pts. wt. trimmed jute, immersing in 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane solution at room temperature for 8-12 hours, occasionally stirring, taking out and drying, (c) uniformly dispersing the modified graphene in deionized water, then immersing the grafted jute fiber in graphene dispersion liquid for 24-48 hours and time to time stirring, and then drying the processed fiber, and (d) uniformly mixing the obtained fiber with 210-350 pts. wt. polypropylene, and then drying to obtain final product.
