NOVELTY - Graphene coated silicon carbide cathode material comprises 80-120 pts. wt. graphene and 10-20 pts. wt. silicon carbide. The graphene is graphene sheet having thickness of 0.5-20 nm. The silicon carbide is granular. The granularity is 10-100 nm. USE - Graphene coated silicon carbide cathode material for use in a battery. ADVANTAGE - The graphene-coated silicon carbide cathode material has wide source, low cost, first coulomb efficiency of the battery prepared by the cathode material is not less than 98%, the capacitance is not less than 3524 mAh/g, and the capacitance retention rate after circulating for 100 times is not less than 97%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing graphene-coated silicon carbide anode material, which involves: (A) adding concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and potassium permanganate to graphene under stirring at elevated temperature to obtain a graphene solution; (B) adding hydrogen peroxide to the graphene solution under stirring in a water bath; (C) filtering and washing with deionized water to neutrality to obtain graphene oxide; (D) dispersing graphene oxide in water ultrasonically to obtain a graphene oxide suspension; (E) adding silicon oxide to the graphene oxide suspension under stirring; (F) centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain a mixture; and (G) calcining the obtained mixture under an inert atmosphere at 300-600 degrees C for 3-5 hours to obtain the graphene-coated silicon carbide negative electrode material.
