NOVELTY - Tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)32+) anode or cathode co-reactant, which are gold-reduced graphene oxide (Au-rGO) composites, is claimed. The particle size of gold nanoparticles in the anode co-reactant is 10-15 nm. The gold nanoparticles in the cathode co-reactant have a particle size of 2-4 nm. USE - Used as tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)32+) anode or cathode co-reactant. ADVANTAGE - The co-reactant has good performance in catalyzing the OER reaction, can promote the anode luminescence of ruthenium terpyridyl, the cathodic co-reactant has good performance in catalyzing the ORR reaction, and can promote the cathodoluminescence of ruthenium terpyridyl. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the co-reactant, comprising mixing chloroauric acid aqueous solution and r-GO suspension, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain first mixture, adding sodium borohydride to first mixture, uniformly mixing, then adding sodium citrate, uniformly mixing, after completion of the reaction, separating and washing the solid product, then redispersing it to obtain a resuspended solution, centrifuging the resuspended solution at 11000-12500 revolutions per minute for 10-30 minutes, collecting the non-precipitated components that are not in the solution, and obtaining the product.
