NOVELTY - Article (10) comprises a substrate (12), an oxide layer (14) on the substrate, an epoxy-based primer attached to the oxide layer opposite the substrate, and a topcoat (18) attached to the epoxy-based primer opposite the oxide layer, where the primer contains graphene nanoplatelets. USE - Article. ADVANTAGE - The article enables to protect metals such as aluminum, copper, cadmium, zinc, magnesium, tin, silver, iron, and their alloys to reduce and slow corrosion of the metal. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for making a corrosion resistant coating, which involves: (A) forming an oxide layer on a surface of a metallic substrate; (B) applying a primer with graphene nanoplatelets to the oxide layer of the metallic substrate; and (C) applying topcoat to the primer opposite the metallic substrate.
