USE - The method is useful for preparing Cl modified GQD/APGQAS/acidified attapulgite nano complex antibacterial agent. ADVANTAGE - The method inhibits the recombination of photogenerated electrons on its surface, and promotes the production of reactive oxygen species. The agent is safe and pollution-free and has high antibacterial efficiency. The agent (4 mg/ml) exhibits antibacterial rate of 99.01% with respect to Escherichia coli. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Method for preparing chlorine (Cl) modified graphene quantum dots (GQD)/alkyl glycoside quaternary ammonium salt (APGQAS)/acidified attapulgite nano complex antibacterial agent, involves (a) weighing 2-5 g attapulgite into the hydrochloric acid solution, heating in a water bath, washing the product for 3 times with distilled water, removing the supernatant every time, washing the attapulgite solution with water to neutrality, finally centrifuging, taking the solid sediment and drying to obtain acidified attapulgite, (b) heating 3-6 g citric acid (CA) at 210 degrees C to turn dark orange, adding sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to adjust the pH to neutral to obtain GQDs aqueous solution, taking 120-150 mg GQD in 40 ml hydrochloric acid (HCl) and heating in a water bath at 60-80 degrees C for 3 hours to obtain chlorine modified graphene quantum dots, and (c) weighing acidified attapulgite and APGQAS in a mass ratio of 1:0.1-0.4, dispersing in water, mixing and stirring at 60 degrees C for 3 hours, centrifuging with water, washing three times, then adding GQD-Cl, where the mass ratio of attapulgite to GQD-Cl is 1:0.5-1.5, heating in an oil bath at 50-80 degrees C, stirring for 4-7 hours to complete, adding deionized water after the reaction, standing, washing and centrifuging product.
