NOVELTY - An assembly of carbon atoms is in sp2 hybridization state in contact with several aromatic hydrocarbon compounds (I) and (II). USE - Assembly of carbon atoms in sp2 hybridization state is used for antibacterial coating, preferably bactericidal or bacteriostatic coating of substrate such as metal, metal oxide, glass or polymer substrate for producing material (all claimed) for operating theater, food industry, and houses. ADVANTAGE - The assembly of carbon atoms is capable of finely and easily adjusting antibacterial properties of the treated surface. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An assembly of carbon atoms is in sp2 hybridization state in contact with several aromatic hydrocarbon compounds of formula: (R-L1-W')n-V'-L2-X-Y' (I) and (R-L1-W')n-V'-L2-X-Z (II). n = 1-3, preferably 3; V' = -C(H)3-n-, or -C(H)= (when n is 2), or -C- (when n is 1); R = aryl comprising 2-6 fused aryl; L1 = 1-12C alkane diyl; W' = single bond, arene diyl, heteroarene diyl, or -O-Ar1-; Ar1,Ar2 = arenyl or heteroarenyl; L2 = -(L2a)i-(L2b)j-; i,j = 0 or 1; i+j = 1 or 2; L2a = 1-12C alkane diyl, 2-12C alkene diyl or 2-12C alkyne diyl; L2b = arene diyl, heteroarene diyl, or -O-Ar2-; X = -C(=O)N-, -C(=O)O- or -C(=O)S-; Y' = antibacterial antibody or lectin;and Z = antibacterial peptide. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of the assembly of carbon atoms, which involves contacting an assembly of carbon atoms in sp2 hybridization state with an aromatic hydrocarbon compound of formula: (R-L1-W')n-V'-L2-X-Q (III) to obtain assembly of carbon atoms in activated sp2 hybridization state and contacting assembly of carbon atoms in activated sp2 hybridization state with a composition comprising an antibacterial antibody or a lectin and an antibacterial peptide; (2) a material, which comprises a substrate in which all or a portion of a surface is covered with the assembly of carbon atoms; and (3) preparation of the material, which involves depositing the assembly of carbon atoms in sp2 hybridization state on a surface of the support. XQ = -C(=O)ON-succinimidyl, -C(=O)-Cl, -C(=O)-N3, -C(=O)-ON-imidazolyl, or -C(=O)-OC(=O)-;and R' = linear, branched or cyclic 1-12C alkyl, -C(=O)-O-catecholboranyl, -C(=O)-O-benzotriazolyl, preferably -C(=O)ON-succinimidyl.
