NOVELTY - Sulfur-modulated alkaline metal ion battery universal carbon-based cathode material comprises sulfur-modulated three-dimensional graphene aerogel comprising three-dimensional porous structure. USE - Used as sulfur-modulated alkaline metal ion battery universal carbon-based cathode material. ADVANTAGE - The material: has simple and easy preparation method, short preparation time, high yield and good controllability; utilizes raw materials are non-toxic and environmentally friendly; and has excellent electrochemical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing universal carbon-based cathode material for alkali metal ion batteries modulated by sulfur, comprising (i) configuring aqueous graphene oxide solution, (ii) adding ethylenediamine and sodium borohydride solution dropwise to the aqueous graphene oxide solution, (iii) reacting the mixed solution obtained in the step (ii) at a high temperature for a period of time, (iv) taking the product obtained in the step (iii), allowing to stand for cooling, separating the solid sample and placing in a hydroalcoholic solution for period of time, (v) freeze-drying the product obtained in the step (iv) to obtain reduced graphene oxide aerogel, (vi) placing the aerogel obtained in the step (v) and sublimated sulfur powder in different amounts in a vacuum quartz tube for high temperature annealing treatment to obtain sulfur-modulated three-dimensional graphene aerogel.
