NOVELTY - Invention relates to a method for producing a composite material from a powder of aluminium or an alloy thereof. The powder of aluminium or the alloy thereof and a liquid carbon-containing substance are mixed while heated to the temperature of decomposition of said carbon-containing substance, constituting 60 to 150C and ensuring release of carbon and deposition thereof in the form of a graphene coating on said powder. The liquid carbon-containing substance is selected from the group: an acid or an aqueous solution thereof, a water-soluble salt or an aqueous solution thereof, a chemical compound containing cations of carbon constituting carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) or ethylbenzene (C8H10). Carbonic acid, acetic acid, formic acid, or an aqueous solution of one of these acids is used as an acid or an aqueous solution thereof. A salt of carbonic (H2CO3), acetic (CH3COOH), formic (CH2O2) acid or an aqueous solution of one of the specified salts is used as a water-soluble salt or an aqueous solution thereof. The graphene-coated powder is compacted and sintered at a pressure of 800 to 1000 MPa and at a temperature of 350 to 500C. USE - Composite materials. ADVANTAGE - Dense durable composite material with a continuous graphene grid providing said material with high heat conductivity is produced. 1 cl, 3 ex
